Attachment therapies help children and families build strong bonds.
By using therapeutic assessments our specialists identify the needs of each child, adult and family.
Once we have completed a therapeutic assessment, our experts will recommend the most suitable treatment. As part of our approach we may use Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) or Theraplay © informed practice.
- DDP is a family based treatment for fostered or adopted children who have experienced severe trauma. By working together as a family we help the child build trusting and lasting relationships.
- Theraplay supports families in learning to play together. This helps create a safe, fun environment for a child to build self confidence, trust and family attachments.
Therapeutic stories, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) also form part of our general practice.
Therapeutic parenting is central to our work, so we regularly support birth, foster and adoptive parents by giving guidance on this approach to parenting.
By changing patterns in thoughts, emotions and behaviour for child and parent, we adjust approaches to attachment to build positive relationships.
